WIMBLEDON GUILD ANNOUNCE THEIR MONEY-SAVING FAIR GOLDEN TOKEN FOR THE VILLAGE FAIR 2016

The Wimbledon Guild Village Fair, has launched the Fair Golden Token to save families money on kids' attractions for the first time.

Fair organisers Wimbledon Guild is offering visitors to its landmark free annual fair the chance to buy one of their Fair Golden Tokens before the event on Saturday June 18.

The Fair Golden Token fun voucher gives families the chance to take advantage of an exclusive six-for-the-price-of-five online offer.

Head of Fundraising Fiona Healey-Hutchinson said: "Thousands of families come along to the Wimbledon Guild Village Fair every year and we really appreciate their support.

“This year we decided to give people the chance to plan ahead and save some money by offering the Fair Golden Token deal before the big day. We know that many people are on tight budgets and hope this will help them plan for and enjoy a fantastic family day out.

“They won’t need to worry about bringing extra cash on the day for the children’s attractions as they will be able to pick up their pre-paid tokens at special collection points.

“The Wimbledon Guild Village Fair is a fantastic day out for families and we look forward to seeing everyone coming out to enjoy the day and help us raise funds to support our work helping people of all ages across Merton.”

The Wimbledon Guild Village Fair is a favourite with families, foodies, music fans and shopaholics.

One of London’s biggest free outdoor events, this year’s highlights include a petting zoo with small animals such as sheep and goats from Deen City Farm as well as a chance to get up close to and meet the hawks, owls and an eagle from the Hawking Centre, with flying displays throughout the day.

The Fair Golden Token can also be used for the bouncy castle and soft play area in the Children’s Zone and for attractions in the Fair’s Adventure Village, including zorbing, a climbing wall, laser tag and other exhilarating activities.

Other highlights this year include a fun Dog Show, two amazing Food Villages offering traditional British and international cuisine and a Farmers' Market featuring hand-selected artisan meats and cheeses.

More than 250 adults and children will perform on the main live music stage throughout the day, or visitors can chill out in the Jazz Tent. Shoppers can browse more than 200 carefully-chosen stalls offering handcrafted and distinctive goods and visitors will also have the chance to win some fantastic prizes in the Grand Raffle.

The Fair Golden Token costs £15 and provides six tokens for the price of five. The token is only available by purchasing online ahead of the event. Tokens can then be collected from the special pick-up points at the Fair on production of a printed receipt. They are only available for sale until the end of May.

You can buy as many sets of tokens as you like but tokens bought for this year’s fair cannot be carried over to 2017.

Last year’s event attracted more than 35,000 people and organisers aim to make this one even bigger and better. Money raised on the day will go towards helping the charity continue its work supporting the local community.

Wimbledon Guild was established in 1907 and works throughout the Borough of Merton, providing practical help for people in crisis, hardship grants, talking therapy, befriending and activities for older people.

Entry to the Wimbledon Guild Village Fair is free. The event takes place at Wimbledon Common, Southside, from 10.30am to 5pm, on Saturday, June 18. For more information visit www.wimbledonguildvillagefair.org.uk or follow @wguild on Twitter and Wimbledon_guild on Instagram.
